Mr. Richard Oehme is the Director of the Office of Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency. Mr. Oehme holds a B.A. in political science, from 1988. He has also been a reserve officer. He was born on November 27 1959. From 2008 – 2009 Mr. Oehme was a Senior Adviser and Head of the Analysis Section at the Crisis Management Coordination Secretariat at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Between 2005 – 2008 Mr. Richard Oehme was Head of the IT- and Protective Security Unit at the Government Offices Security and Premises Department. The purpose for the unit is the operational security of the Government Offices premises and IT-system.
During 2001-2005 Mr. Oehme was a Special Adviser at the Swedish Government Secretariat for Intelligence Co-ordination witch forms an administrative part of the Ministry of Defence. The objective of the Secretariat is to follow, co-ordinate and evaluate qualitative aspects of the defence intelligence activities and to ensure that the tasking of the defence intelligence community corresponds with Sweden’s security needs.
Between 2002-2005 Mr. Oehme was also a Special Adviser to the Swedish Commission on Information Security. The Commission resulted in four reports. The main arguments and proposals were in the two reports; Secure Information – Proposals on Information Security Policy (SOU 2005:42) and Information Security Policy – Organizational Consequences (SOU 2005:71).
From 1989-2000, Mr. Oehme was employed at the National Defence Radio Institute (FRA) where he held several posts.
